Wasseraufbereitung
Key Facts
Applications
Besides the sea water desalination GD units can be used
for several other applications. The existing raw fluid as well as
the desired product in the end of the process determines which best fit – GD solution should be selected. All GD unites are modular, containerized and can be shipped very easily.
GD Basic units uses “normal” sea or brackish water to produce drinking, irrigation or process water for off-grid locations (islands, hotels, farms, boats, offshore applications, crisis areas, humanitarian aid).
GD Mining units are optimized to recycle mining, oil or gas production waste water with lower salt but high oil and arsenic residual contents. The unit can reduce the total waste water volume and produce new fresh water for process or drinking purpose. (hydro fracking & mining exploration camps).
GD Industrial units are optimized for high chemical contaminated waste water as well as for concentration of industrial products (energy, chemical, health, food industries …)
GD Dense units can work with high salinity raw water. Even the use of RO backflow to higher concentrate and reduce the overall brine volume is possible A separate crystallization unit for ZLD use and mineral production is currently developed.
GD Sustain solutions combine several units to cover whole facility supply (electrical Power, cooling
power, heat, water, sewage treatment…) for your location.
Solutions
GD CHPS (Combined Heat & Power production Solutions) You plan to run a generator for power generation? Then use GD units to produce fresh water at the same time with same energy consumption.
By using the waste heat from power generation to clean contaminated water close to 95 % of the primary energy input (fuel, gas …) will be used for combined power and water production. Besides CHP solutions all kinds of waste heat (cooling process, industrialprocesses…) can be used as driving force for the process.
GD RES (Renewable Energy Solutions)
If no waste heat is available the process can be driven by solar, geothermal and wind energy. The solar option requires good climate conditions as well as space (25 m²/m³/d) for the collectors. Even low tech collectors can be used (tmax=60°C).
Because of this low temperature heat, geothermal energy can be provided from near surface wells, there is no deep drilling required. You can also increase the efficiency by using existing wells in oil and gas production industries.
Key Facts
GD units desalinate high salt concentration intake water. Unlike other solutions the energy demand is independent of the raw water quality. Treatment of contaminated water and brine (8 % salinity) works without rising operations expenses. Outstanding energy efficiency of the GD process due to cascading heat utilization minimizes the daily running costs.
Low maintenance is the result of robust design and case dependent usage of enhanced materials. Massive reduced Corrosion, Scaling and Fouling risk compared to conventional heat exchanger materials or membranes.
